Chestnut Health Systems™ provides a variety of healthcare services in Illinois and Missouri. Their team connected with Cybernautic on the eve of their organization's 50th Anniversary—they knew it was time to upgrade their web presence to better reflect their goals and become a much stronger resource to the community and their patients.
Chestnut Health Systems faced a brand awareness challenge: while they had expanded into a four-division organization offering a wide range of healthcare services, the communities they served primarily associated them with behavioral health. Their goal was to reposition the brand so that Chestnut was recognized first and foremost as a primary care provider—especially with their recent expansion into dental care.
In addition, the website itself presented several challenges. First, migrating a vast amount of content from the old site, particularly from their research division, The Lighthouse Institute. Second, structuring navigation to serve both the overall organization and its individual divisions—essentially creating five websites in one.
- 1 Brand Positioning
- 2 Multi-tiered Navigation
- 3 Massive Content Migration
With a sitemap spanning the organization and four distinct divisions, intuitive mobile navigation was essential. While helping users find what they need quickly is crucial for any website, it was especially important for Chestnut due to its emergency services.
To enhance usability, Chestnut’s mobile navigation features a persistent quick-link bar at the bottom of the browser, staying with users as they scroll. A horizontal scrolling menu beneath the header provides easy access to each main menu item, while the condensed mobile menu contextually adjusts based on the section of the website being explored—always offering a simple way back to the main menu.
A truly collaborative effort between highly invested teams, the result is a feature-rich and user-friendly website that is intuitive to navigate and clearly communicates all that Chestnut Health Systems provides.
